Yay Weezer!

Concert update:

Past:
I had tickets for Marlay Park on Saturday and had a chance to see Underworld and Basement Jaxx.

First of all Marlay park is a great venue. An outdoor venue thats big enough for two stages without sound overlap.

Underworld - I missed the first half (as well as a set by Mylo) because I couldn't be motivated to get a move on the see the daytime shows and events. The second half of the set was increible tho, and they played a few tunes from Beaucoup Fish, the album which was my first encounter (thanks Karin).

Basement Jaxx - super funky set, so much variety in the music. The concert was full of surprises - as in I kept recognizing songs from the club and saying "Oh this is THEIR song?" Funny since the same thing happened with i watched them on TV for Live 8...Still a great show - the only thing that perplexed me was that the singers are big girls, but they spend their lives singing and dancing their asses off on stage yet they're still, well, big. Must be the worst exercise program in history.

Present:
WEEZER! This was a wicked surprise! Last minute tickets for Weezer at the Point, which means that passes to the Point Club. I'm going to have to do some detective work and see where the band is going after the show or where they're staying. I have agents in the major hotels around town so I'll get them to keep their ears open. Come on "randomly" running into the band. hahah Bottom line is I don't have the new album so I'm looking forward to hearing it for the first time live.

Future:
Electric Picnic's still on the horizon. I have to say I'm most excited about seeing Kraftwerk, the pioneers of electronic music, inventors of the modern keyboard, and all around eurobots. Not to mention the 500 other acts and the Silent Disco. It's a week and a half away and I can barely sit still...
